New to the United States are two rare oils: Baobab…The Tree of Life; an icon of andof the African landscape...and Marula…The Sacred Tree. Unique finds thanks to Nana NKatiah Bosom; our Ethno-botanist from Ghana, West Africa. You will be amazed... ~Nina

How Baobab Oil is made
Baobab oil is made from baobab seeds. The seeds are found in a large capsule-like fruit on trees throughout the savannas of Africa. The fruit mature during the dry season and drop off the trees when ready to be harvested by people living in rural areas. At the processing facility the seeds are extracted by cracking the hard outer capsule. The extracted seeds are then washed to remove a powder coating and then air dried in the hot sun. These seeds can be stored for many months before pressing. Baobab oil is made by a cold pressing process. A press, or expeller, 'squeezes' the oil from the baobab seed. The newly pressed oil is immediately filtered to help clarify the oil which is then bottled. Ummelina's baobab oil has not undergone any further refinement or processing and has no additives. We are proud to say our oil is 100% pure fair-trade.
MARULA OIL HELPS EVERYONE
This miracle oil nourishes not only our beautiful skin, but also the communities that produce it. Marula Oil is nature's gift, contributing to rural and social development. Passed down from generations, women have cracked the nut of the Marula fruit to extract the precious kernels from which the oil is made. This hand pressed process gives the oil its purity.
Today's modern scientific research reveals and confirms the secrets of Marula Oil. This multi-purpose oil contains powerful antioxidants, high concentrations of nutrients, minerals and essential fatty acids that protect against environmental aggressors, reverse photo-damage, boost cellular activity, hydrate at the deepest levels and repair the skin. More anti-oxidant protection means more youthful looking skin and better defense against premature skin aging. Marula Oil is ideal for dull, aging skin, under-nourished skin and frequent travelers. The anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties of Marula Oil reduce the need for preservatives.
Skin Benefits of Marula Oil
- Vitamin C - potent antioxidant with deep skin penetration of nutrients and hydration.
- Vitamin E - neutralizes free radical damage, provides luster to the skin and hair.
- Tocotrienol - a potent form of Vitamin E unparalleled in nourishing inflamed, irritated or dry skin.
